About me

Experienced breast care, explained in plain language.

I am a highly experienced consultant breast surgeon who has specialised in treating breast disease for 20 years.

I trained at St Bartholomew's Hospital in London and am a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

I currently chair the ABS and NHS Breast Screening Programme Audit Committee. This committee is responsible for the UK breast screening data collection. An annual report is produced to help support ongoing service improvements for women with screen-detected breast cancer.

This website aims to provide helpful information about my breast service. It also provides useful links to other breast care websites, with comprehensive explanations of several breast conditions.

All patients are given an individual high-quality service, using the latest medical innovations such as sentinel node biopsy, tomosynthesis mammography AND/OR ultrasound, Magseed and vacuum-assisted biopsies.

My breast clinics are assisted by a full complement of consultant breast radiologists and breast care nurses. The majority of patients are given a diagnosis at the first consultation clinic, although sometimes biopsy results are required at another appointment.

Clinics

One-stop clinics are designed to reduce waiting and uncertainty.

  1. Consultation Discussion of symptoms, examination, and review of any previous tests.
  2. Imaging Mammogram AND/OR ultrasound can usually be arranged during the same clinic visit when needed.
  3. Results and plan Many patients receive a diagnosis on the day. Biopsy results are followed up clearly.
